Taking The Music Out Of "MTV"

Late last week, it was announced that MTV would be canceling its show "It's On With Alexa Chung" after just two seasons of the celebrity talk show. Alexa Chung's show served as the replacement to the canceled "Total Request Live" and featured a number of interviews and music performances from a range of artists. Aside from music videos that air either really late at night or super early in the morning MTV has become quite the music-less channel. With the cancellation of "It's On With Alexa Chung" being the latest blow.

"It's On With Alexa Chung" wasn't a bad show, sure a lot of people may not have been huge fans of Alexa Chung and her somewhat irritating accent and quirky personality, but it was a decent show. We got to check out sit-down interviews with artists like Kid Cudi, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Drake, and much more on top of the occasional performance. The cancellation of "It's On With Alexa Chung" is going to create a huge void for MTV. Not that they probably care or anything.

I'm not really sure what MTV plans on replacing "It's On With Alexa Chung" with, but if it's re-runs of a new reality dating show then I am through, beyond through, infinite throughness! Because if that's the case MTV really needs to think about changing its name because Music Television is hella misleading.
