Big K.R.I.T. Live In NYC

Big K.R.I.T., the latest addition to Def Jam and Hip Hop's next big thing, will be performing at S.O.B.'s in New York City on Wednesday, June 30. The show will serve as a celebration of K.R.I.T.'s signing to Def Jam. Attendee's can also expect performances from Curren$y, YC The Cynic, and more.

Also, for my Atlanta peeps I'm pretty sure K.R.I.T. has a show down here on July 10. Don't quote me on that, but I think I saw something on his Twitter page about it.

As always, peep the flyer below for more info.

If you're gonna be in the Atlanta area this weekend you definitely have to check out Ms. Brittany Bosco performing at the 529 in the East Atlanta Village. I've only seen her perform once, but it was crazyyy. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her perform live again and for a longer set. Check out the flyer for more info and also check out this video footage I got at one of her most recent performances.

Recap: Erykah Badu Live In Atlanta (Vid+Pics)

On Sunday, October 25 I had the opportunity to check out the extremely talented Erykah Badu live in concert here in Atlanta. Before Ms. Badu performed the audience was treated to performances by comedian Ricky Smiley and singer Rahbi. As expected Ricky Smiley was HIGH-larious and although I'm not really sure if the audience was totally feeling him, I personally liked Rahbi. His energy was crazyyy and I thought he was kind of a breath of fresh air musically.

About an hour and a half after the show began Erykah Badu finally hit the stage dressed in a tan trench coat, a pair of shiny, black harem paints, and black top hat. She performed a number of her classics including "Next Lifetime" and "Love Of My Life." She even did a little (a lot of) rapping and some mixing on the MPC. The rapping and the MPC was hot and all, but I would have preferred to hear more of her music.

Plus, a lot of people (including myself) were upset when she ended the show without performing "Tyrone". And to add insult to injury we later found out that maybe a few minutes after she left the stage she came back out to perform "Tyrone" and several other songs. Total bummer. All in all it was still a great show from a great artist.

Oh, and I didn't have my FlipCam on me, but I was able to get some decent footage as well as some pictures with my digital camera. Check it out!

Live Nation Club Passport

I was quite impressed earlier this week when I received an e-mail from the folks over at Live Nation explaining one of their latest promotions. It's called Club Passport and it allows you to check out an unlimited number of shows at Live Nation venues for the rest of the year for only $49.99. I'm not sure if this is a new promotion by Live Nation, but it sounds like a hell of a great deal especially if you're an avid concert-goer.

There's only about one venue per city that's participating in this promotion. Here in Atlanta it's The Tabernacle. But as long as the show's not sold out you're in there! And trust me with this recession only really big named artists are selling out.

Club Passport will only be available for a limited time so be sure to check out Live Nation's site if you're interested.

It's Still Not Too Late...

To cop those Goodie Mob reunion tickets. This show is going to be EPIC. All of Atlanta (fans, artists, etc) will be out in full force to show support for legendary Hip Hop group Goodie Mob. This is definitely a show not to be missed.

There's only about two days left until the Saturday show and I'm not sure how much longer tickets will be available. Check the flyer for more info.

Goodie Mob Reunion Promo

I was checking out Maurice Garland's blog today and I came across this promo video for the Goodie Mob reunion show taking place in Atlanta next month. It's nice to hear the guys talk about the reunion in such a positive way. And trust me when I tell you this show is gonna be HUGE, it's gonna be HUUUUUUGE!

Hennessy Artistry Series

I have to admit I was a little excited to read an e-mail this afternoon about the fourth annual Hennessy Artistry tour. Whenever there's great music and liquor involved it's bound to be a good time. And there will indeed be great music with The Roots and Common headlining the tour which will be making stops in Atlanta (yay!), Chicago, New York, and Houston in September/October.

Although I covered the red carpet for the finale of the event in New York City last year I wasn't actually able to check out the show. By the time I decided to head in for the performances (and free liquor) security was already claiming they were at capacity, you know, the whole fire hazard mumbo jumbo.

I can't front though, even though I wasn't allowed in I still had a decent time. Met some cool folks on the red carpet and got some decent quotes from artists attending the event.

I've been dying to see The Roots perform live so I will definitely be checking out this years show. For more information on Hennessy Artistry series click here.

Get LIVE NY!

I definitely consider myself a live music stan. To me there's nothing like hearing great music performed live. SO with that being said, I'd like to give my NY folks a heads up on some stuff going on in the near future.

First up, the one and only Dujeous will be performing at NYC Winter Jam '09 which is taking place this Saturday (February 7) from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at East River Park in Manhattan. Did I mention this event is $$$FREE$$$. Gotta love that. Plus there's gonna be a lot of fun stuff to do like tubing and skiing. Yes, skiing!

Another event also happening this Saturday is Brooklyn Museum's First Saturday. You can check out a performance by Afro-Latin band San Juan Hill and more. Visit the BK Museum's Website for more info.

And last, but definitely not least my homie Kosha Dillz will be performing at two events next week. Peep the fliers below for more info! And if you catch me at one of these events feel free to buy me a Pina Colada or two. Ha! Too bad Hip Hop is anti-Pina Colada.
