I Want This...
I've been wanting to get my hands on this "ATLien" t-shirt by Chilly-O for a minute now. I've seen so many people rocking them lately so I finally Googled it to see who sold them. I'm really feeling the black and green crewneck shirt although it's definitely too hot to rock that one now. And I thought the one with the MARTA inspired colors was pretty funny too. The t-shirts sell for $25 while the crewneck is available for $45.

Beatnick And K-Salaam "Smells Like Teen Spirit" Remix
I was browsing through my inbox earlier today and I came across this little piece of awesomeness from New York City based duo Beatnick and K-Salaam. It's a remix of Nirvana's classic track "Smells Like Teen Spirit." I was never a big Nirvana fan, but I am a big fan of that particular song and I think Beatnick and K-Salaam did a pretty stellar job with their remix.

Microsoft Kin/Big Boi Show Recap
Last night in Atlanta I had one of the best times yet! And I pray to the Gods that this is a sampling of what this summer will be like in the A.
So the good folks over at Microsoft Kin held a secret show in Atlanta yesterday (May 27) that consisted of performances from Big Boi, YelaWolf, and Jay Electronica. Oh, and for all you lushes out there there was an open bar at the event also. Each person was allowed four drinks. Big shout out to all the double fisters who were at the show last night. You alcoholics crack me up every time!
Any who, Jay Electronica kicked off the show and killed it of course. He even went into some hilarious rant about women who like being choked during sex. Random, I know. The crowd loved it though. Next up was Alabama's own YelaWolf. Catfish Billy hit the audience with "Pop The Trunk" and even brought out Atlanta rapper Pill for "I Wish."
Last but not least was Big Boi and when I tell you his performance was insane...it was INSANE. He hit us with a few classic Outkast tracks like "Rosa Parks," "B.o.B," and "ATLiens." He performed "Shutterbugg" from his upcoming album Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son Of Chico Dusty. And he absolutely murderrred it with "Kryptonite!" The entire crowd went wild. The floor in the venue was literally bouncing. I stepped on like three different peoples feet and what did they do? One guy hugged me and the other two smiled. It was that type of atmosphere. Everyone was just worried about having a good time.
Soooo if Microsoft Kin can throw a free concert featuring Big Boi I'm thinking Blackberry or iPhone can sponsor a free Outkast reunion concert? What do ya'll think? Am I pushing it?

Killer Mike "Grandma's House" Video + New Song
Okay, sorry for the short break. As some of you may or may not know I was out of town for about a week recently for a funeral. But now I'm Backkk (Word to T.I.) and apparently this week was seriously one for new music. I'm obviously not going to post all the new songs and videos because that would be downright corny but I had to post some new stuff from Killer Mike because I'm a big fan of his. So check out both Killer Mike's new video "Grandma's House" and his new song "Ready Set Go" featuring T.I.
To listen to "Ready Set Go" click here.
And grrrrr at his new video premiering on WorldStarHipHop! Man, I hate that site lol. Thankfully though I was able to find a YouTube link :-)

Donwill And Von Pea Release The Sandwich Shop
Today, Tanya Morgan's own Donwill and Von Pea released the free EP The Sandwich Shop (no relation to 50 Cent's wack ass song "The Candy Shop"). The Sandwich Shop consists of music that was created by The Roots to segue in and out of commercial breaks on "The Jimmy Fallon Show." Entitled "sandwiches," Questlove later released 22 of these music tracks for free download and that is how The Sandwich Shop came about. Downwill and Von Pea chose a few of these "sandwiches" and added their own lyrics to them.
To download The Sandwich Shop click here. Also, check out the video below for a sample of The Sandwich Shop.

"MIB" Says No LOST Movie
TMZ recently caught up with Titus Welliver, the actor who plays the man in black (MIB) on "LOST," and chatted with him a bit about the show. While Welliver didn't reveal anything big about the shows ending, because that would obviously lead to legal issues, he did clear up the rumors about alternate endings and a "LOST" movie. And it looks like both aren't true, there won't be a "LOST" movie and to his knowledge there weren't any alternate endings filmed for the series finale.
All in all, Welliver seemed like a pretty cool dude in the video (totally unlike his character) so be sure to check it out. And wooooooooah at tonight's episode being the last before the series finale! Crazy I tell ya! Can't wait!

I'm In Desperate Need Of...
A friggin' trip to New York City! Sooo bad! I've been in Atlanta for almost a year now and I really thought I would have at least been up to NYC for a visit by now :-\
I definitely miss all my peeps, taking the subway every day (even though I hear the MTA is getting worse and worse), hitting up my favorite spots (Downtown BK, Tribeca, 34th Street), etc.
And I know spring/summer is when the city becomes most alive so I'm really envious of everyone up there now. Grrrr!
But I'm really confident that I'll be up there some time this summer. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Big Pimpin' Royal Caribbean Style
Just a few days ago my cousin Candie and I were discussing cruise vacations and I told her that I don't think I could ever take a cruise because of the limitedness of it. I mean I just can't see how much you can do if you're limited to a certain amount of space. Then BAM, like magic, I get an e-mail about Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas and let me tell ya the folks over at Royal Caribbean aren't playing!
First thing that stood out to me is Allure of the Seas will feature Chicago: The Musical as its Broadway production. Now pardon my cruise ship ignorance, but I really thought cruise ship shows consisted of bogus magicians and dance school flunkies NOT Broadway plays!
The ship also features a 3D movie theater so you don't have to worry about watching the latest comic book-based movie in 2D. How lame would that be?? We all know that 2D and action flicks are a no-no these days.
As one of the worlds largest cruise ships it wouldn't be right for Allure of the Seas to not feature some fine cuisine. After all that is what cruise ships are so well known for, right? Some of Allure of the Seas restaurants include the Mexican beach bar and So Cal inspired Rita's Cantina and hot dog haven, The Boardwalk Dog House.
Allure of the Seas will set sail December of this year so you still have time to save your pennies :-)

Picture Diaries: Nick Cannon Gets His DJ On In Vegas
Actor/radio show host Nick Cannon made an appearance at PURE Nightclub in Las Vegas last night (May 14) to freshen up on his deejaying skills and enjoy a drink or two. I'm not a huge fan of celebrities trying their luck at deejaying, but I've heard that Cannon is actually pretty decent. While taking a break from deejaying Cannon was spotted indulging on a few Belvedere cocktails. Apparently, Belvedere has become the liquor of choice for everyone AND their mama.
Check out pictures of Cannon deejaying below.

Picture Diaries: Big Boi Listening Session (Atlanta)
On Saturday, May 8 Amoura from The Girls I Love and I had the opportunity to check out the Atlanta album listening session for Big Boi's upcoming project Sir Luscious Leftfoot: The Son Of Chico Dusty. It was definitely off the chain. Good music, drinks, and food...what more can you ask for? I got a couple of pics in while I was there. They aren't the greatest, but I figured I'd post them on here.
Be sure to check out my recap of the event over at RefinedHype.com. And look out for Big Boi's album when it drops on July 6.

Machete Trailer (Awesomeness)
If anyone watched the Grindhouse flicks by Quentin Tarantino then you probably remember the faux trailer to a movie called Machete. Well, Machete was eventually turned into an actual movie and the trailer for the film was released today, Cinco de Mayo. And the cast is INSANE! Robert DeNiro, Steven Segal, Lindsay Lohan (as a nun, wowwww), Michelle Rodriguez (love, loooove her), Captain Frank Lepidus from "LOST" (RIP, I think), and more.
I will definitely be checking this film out! Can't wait!

Tupac/Kobe Bryant FAIL
I recently came across these hilarious pictures of basketball player Kobe Bryant taken for the Los Angeles Times Magazine.
Funny thing is the hilarity doesn't stop there. Apparently, the stylist for the photo shoot was inspired by Tupac! I think it's safe to say that somebody is rolling over in their grave right now. Check out what the stylist for the shoot had to say to the Los Angeles Times about styling Kobe:
“Kobe was amazing to work with because he was cool with everything. He trusted us. We took a picture and he liked it so we kept going. We wanted to do a picture with a hat because the photographer wanted to do everything in white. I didn’t want to use accessories that would look too retro. Let’s do it in a cool, young way because that’s what Kobe is. He’s a cool, young and successful athlete. I wanted to give a modern approach. I was thinking of [rapper] Tupac [Shakur] where I put a band underneath in the hat to make it look hip-hop, but … it translates in a surreal look where it creates a strong image. It was something that hasn’t been done before. It’s mixing the inspiration of Tupac and a gentleman with a white hat … a mix of a hip-hop and a conservative look.”

Only The Brave Iron Man can be purchased for $67.50 at the Fifth Avenue Diesel Flagship in New York, Diesel boutiques, Diesel-fragrances.com, Macy’s, Dillard’s, and other major department stores.

Wrap It Up And Lube It Up
While browsing through pictures on my computer reminiscing on the good ol' days I came across this picture and could not control my laughter.
If you're wondering how in the hell this pic came about here's how...When I used to live in Brooklyn we lived right across the street from a gay bar called StarLite. And of course upon exiting the bar there was always two huge containers full of lube and condoms. Basically, every time my roommates and I went there we would grab fists full of it for no reason at all because we unfortunately weren't using them lol.
And that's how pictures like the one above come about. Boredom, goofiness, and gay bars. I'm just mad that I don't have any pictures of the condom balloons. Yea, we made condom balloons one night and threw them out the window of our brownstone apartment. Cause that's what grown folks do!

Picture Diaries: Envy's Pretty Party Grand Opening
Last week, Envy's Pretty Party celebrated its re-grand opening in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta. Guests were treated to Belvedere Pink Grapefruit cocktails, cupcakes, and other treats. The event also included appearances from singer India Arie as well as TBS's Mia Butler.
The new Envy's Pretty Party is clearly one to check out. The store features a salon, makeup bar (with their own private cosmetics line), clothing boutique, AND an in-house photo shoot studio.
Check out pictures from their opening event below. (Pictures courtesy of Rae-Vaughn Lucas & Sal Photography)

Angela And Vanessa Simmons Introduce New Pastry's
I was checking out Gangstarr Girl's blog today and I came across a video of Angela and Vanessa Simmons introducing their latest Pastry collection. Now I'm definitely not a huge fan of Pastry. I don't think their shoes are really aimed towards the 25 and up crowd. But with this new line I was kinda impressed to see that they're doing something aside from sneakers. The new collection includes both flats and heels. Now I wasn't feeling the flats, but the heels are definitely kinda hot.
And on a completely different note, while I'm not a huge fan of Pastry I love the fact that Vanessa and Angela are two young women who don't have to ho themselves out to make a name for themselves. Kudos to them for that! Hopefully, this younger generation of girls choose the right women to look up to.
Check out the video below to see a sampling of Pastry's latest collection.
