Free Tix To VH1's 2009 Hip Hop Honors

Straight up...if you're a fan of Hip Hop and you'll be in NYC during the taping of Hip Hop Honors and you DON'T apply for these free tickets then you are out your damn mind!! I've been to Hip Hop Honors the past three years and it's always a great time. Out of all the awards shows out there (BET Awards, VMA's, etc.) I most look forward to watching Hip Hop Honors because it's the most genuine in my opinion.

PLEASE apply for these tickets as soon as you can. I have attended every single Hip Hop Honors I have applied to because I made sure I did it ASAP. Check out the information below to apply:

Guys Are Groupies Too.

After attending Hip Hop Honors last night, I realized something. And that was the realization that guys are some of the biggest groupies out there. For real! Now I know there's a big difference between being a fan and being a groupie. But these dudes were straight up groupies!

For example...Being a fan is seeing Fat Joe and if he's in your vicinity saying what's up and giving him dap. And on the flipside, being a groupie is seeing Fat Joe from 50 feet away and making your way through a sea of people only to get a glimpse of him.

I'm tired of female fans being labeled groupies just because they're women. You have plenty of male groupies and they never get called out. So I'm calling you mofo's out right now! :-)

Hip Hop Honors 2008!

This week, I'll be attending my third consecutive Hip-Hop Honors. Yay me! I almost consider it kind of a pre-birthday celebration since the taping of the show always takes place a week or two before my birthday which is October 13, so ya'll better have my gifts ready.

Aside from the 2 hours you wait in line and the two hours you spend waiting around in Hammerstein Ballroom, Hip Hop Honors has always been an event that I've looked forward to. One of my all time highlights was seeing Tribe Called Quest and Busta Rhymes perform last year at Hip Hop Honors. Tribe was going at it, Busta was going at it and the audience, myself included, went wild! It was a great time.

My biggest disappointment last year...NO FOOD OR FREE BEVERAGES. Compared to two years ago where they had free food and drinks (non-alcoholic of course). By the end of the show I was 'bout ready to pass out.

This year, I'm really excited about seeing Slick Rick and Naughty By Nature, but all the honoree's are great artists. Aside from Slick Rick and Naughty By Nature, this years honoree's include De La Soul, Cypress Hill, and Too $hort. With performances by Big Boi, Q-Tip, Scarface, Ghostface, and lots more!

Oh! And unlike the years before I WILL be hitting up the after parties. So holla...

I leave you with this...Slick Rick's "Children's Story" and the link to the Hip Hop Honors page where you can vote for the Website I wrote for (HipHopDX) as Best Hip Hop Site! So make sure you vote!

Vote for HipHopDX! Vote as much as you want! Tell your friends!
